I worked at the zoo again today. The brilliance of people continue to impress me.
There was a large group visiting as part of a family reunion. There were probably about 45 people or more, dressed in a violent purple tee shirt, milling about the entry plaza. As they finally grouped to enter the zoo together, one of the adults indicated the large (3 ft by 3 ft) heavy metal storm drain cover. They said they’d watched the young’uns move it but it was too heavy for them to put it back into place. We had to call grounds maintenance and keep people away from the danger. We had 2 strollers get a wheel locked up and 1 child fall because of it. WHY did the adults allow the kiddies to even think of moving it? <sigh>
